Tommy failed to step off the top of the bridge... When the flying man told him that magic might exist in the world, and he decided to see if it was true. That started him on a journey that he could barely understand, in a place that both existed and at the same time, didn't. It couldn't... A place called, One City. Now he's called to that place. Pressed into an increasingly surreal reality that he isn't certain might be a sign that something very strange is taking place. It's that, or he wasn't among the living any longer. Tom Glen's new talent for unlocking spaces built by magical creatures is handy. Mainly for other people, but it allows him to travel, see new things and, of course, be near the center of the most exciting happenings. Excitement is, of course, often overrated. Luckily, he has some friends to help him out.

       

Tommy Glen is in for a time. Not a fun one, naturally. No, he's going through some fairly major changes, and his new "friends", his mind controlling family or creeps and monsters, wants him to step up and prove he's worthy of being part of the family business. Which isn't even the greatest of his problems at all. Because a war is coming, if not two of them, and the new transport hub is sitting directly in the middle of almost everything.

Contemplating a final plunge into the shining blackness below. Only he was saved, and shown something amazing. A magical construction of splendor and wonder. Not hidden away on another planet, or in some impossible to reach alternate reality, rather a place built right under his own nose. Hidden, as part of the world's cities... A collection of humanity's greatest locations, melded into one. A thing known only as the One City. After taking work using his own unique talents, moving goods and people into and out of the world's main hub of transport, Tommy is relatively happy with his life. Finally. He had been, at least. Only now, the world, his world, which he was already a bit uncertain about being real, is crashing down. And this time, there is no one left to catch him at all...
