Hello All,

Dale and I have been communicating about the recent problems with the Forum here at pspowerbooks.com. It has been decided to retire the Forum and move all author & conversational interactions over to Patreon.

Over the next week or so, I'll be closing down the Forum and creating redirects to start funneling visitors of the Forum over to that URL (the main website showing all the books will be staying).

Thank you everyone for your participation on the Forum these past several years! See you on Patreon!!

p.s. Sorry about all of the coding errors. They reset nightly these days and I can't keep up with changing the code that often... :(

Re: Teleportation?

I think the avoiding the space detritus can be explained in a couple of ways: 1) Since it's far in the future it would be safe to assume much of the man-made space junk has since fallen to Earth and burned up in the atmosphere. 2) The Blues, having space access, have created/maintained automated sys...

Re: Teleportation?

They need to come up with a navigation system and an autopilot too to help with future exploration. LOS doesn't work too well when your standard distance is an AU or a light year.

Sweet. Now I just have to finish up the book I'm reading so I can plow through these.

Re: Teleportation?

I never considered Tor using direct effect for travel. I get this vision of him in his personal shields zipping around the solar system on a whim, then coming to the conclusion, likely after exhausting himself to near death, of cutting out the middle jumps and teleporting. I wonder what would happen...

Re: Teleportation?

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if that's the next Big Thing to come about. I would look to see it when Tor and company get back to earth from Tor's latest pupils.

Re: Countess of Desire

Hell, you could even go the other way with it, instead of magic dead zones, create wild magic zones. The use of magic could saturate some areas where magic is unstable and does wild and crazy things. Go ahead and activate that clothing amulet, but don't be surprised if there's a penguin in your pant...

Re: Countess of Desire

I would find this story line very annoying (magic drought, not commoner revolution). Further, wouldn't this only apply to specific locations? Ie magic use on Earth would be impacted but not the moon or mars? Just an idea. Perhaps localized to areas that have historic high magic use? Create magical ...

Re: Countess of Desire

One way you can get around the power levels is by introducing some sort of natural backlash; The rapid growth of magic use causing damage to whatever natural system powers the creation of the amulets which in turn makes it extremely difficult to create new magic (even simple magic), it could even ca...

Re: Offshoot Novella?

Definitely, this series needs a new book to at least tell the story of how Gwen learns to make rifting devices without blowing up the world. Oh, and how she ends up marrying Ferdinand. Come on, you all know you want to see that. Christophe is a nice enough kid, but no match for Gwen. As for how tha...

Re: Tremble in the Dark: A Gwen Farris Novel

Threadomancy! Gwen's powers aren't really the problem, it's the lack of a cohesive, recurrent nemesis and an overly accommodating power structure. She can teleport, has mild precognitive capabilities, she has low power energy blasts, and eventually she'll learn how to rift, but until she can move th...
