Hello,

We've had a recent spat of Russian spambots to our little website. It added several dozen spam accounts to the site and caused all kinds of wonderful havoc. Because of this, we're shutting down the Registration for the website for a while to stop the bots from doing what they're been doing. I also deleted a LOT of accounts that I believed to be part of the tsunami. If I inadvertently deleted your account, please forgive me and contact me to let me know. We'll get you back onsite asap.

Best wishes everyone!

Okay I decided to put this here because... rereading the LAMENT Triogy, brought many things into focus about Dale' s revelation that ALL his books are tied together. It became evident that in this series, maybe because it was so condensed (three books only) similarities stood out. Though this is only speculation, I think maybe I've got some of this right.
Roy, Royce the apprentice first mate, may be Gerrent this is based on physical description mainly
Dr. Millis is Tesseract from The Infected. Both are good, bad guys... which may be a spoiler for the Infected series. And they both like to wear crazy ties.
Guardian Mara, is probably Lady Glory, it was the sunny disposition, for me.
Guardian Clark, is a toss up either Rolf or Richard, son or father but maybe neither, but definitely a Royal, possibly Tovey, but the other guardian apprentice, Tovin could fit there, or Tobin, the singing Infected. But he could be Pran too, just too many possibilities here.
A bit player(only one paragraph) the engineering specialist, Darla, seen piloting the LAMENT in one scene is Darla The Technition from Keeley.
And the System, where all the Techno- whatevers come from figures to be one of Dale' s multi-verses.

There are others, I'm sure, I have suspicions but I can't put them together very well. Hell, I can't figure out Where's Waldo half the time. And he's right there in front of you the whole time, which is what Dale is probably saying to himself. So there are my guesses for this series. We still have a few weeks until the newest P.S. Power book shows up, and The Lament series is only three books long so a reread is possible if you're interested.

So, um Dale? Did I get close at all on this?

Well, Darla is, and always has been, Darla...

If you look you can find Keeley too. She's sort of hidden, so don't feel bad.

I'm about to start a reread through, after I finish YA and infected. I want to see if I can find tor/brian in it. The hint was someone who has another person. In their head? I wanna find him in keelyverse and alternate places

Just finished re-reading this series a couple days ago. One of my favorites and I've been somewhat dismayed that Mr. Powers has not returned to this universe. I like that it is unconnected to the other series, at least as far as I know, and that the characters are much lower in power levels then his other works' characters. It has a lot of potential for continuation, and hopefully someday the author will return to it and give is another glimpse of Pran and crew of the Lament.

And yeah I saw the whole Darla Darla and such connections. What I was trying to say about unconnected was rather that the world, to me, stands apart from the others. In other words the concern of multiple universes, (the big bad from beyond), Dale writes of doesn't seem to be apart of the Lament universe. Maybe if he wrote something in Lament now it would tie back into the larger framework he has been building up, but I like the otherness, the differentiation, between this and his other work.

There is a potential here. A whole other universe, or set of universes, to build something else that doesn't necessarily have to relate to his other work. A place for something different, something new, something less high fantasy and more low fantasy.

I don't know, now I just seem to be rambling. The point, if there is one here, is that I'd like to see more of the Lament style whether it be lament or not lament.

Okay, Toma, let's gang up on him! I'm with you this series could go places. Maybe after Mr. Power finishes up on the uber storyline he is currently working on, he might consider going back to the Lament. I know there's a lot of story left there. Maybe we could bribe him with pie " Everyone likes pie" or cake maybe.

Really? You think it doesn't tie in? Even Josh and Amy ties in... :) (I'm not certain, but I think my real life might tie in...) :)

Also would love to see more from this world. Probably my favorite set of yours.
