Here is an updated list of which characters in the different realities are the "same" person. As the latest book [GF6] was pretty light on cross-reality interactions, there aren't many changes. I'm marked additions since I last posted the list with red.

The list has been produced using information from:

There are some cases where a match has not been explicitly confirmed in the published books, which his kinda-sorta been confirmed by Dale on the forum. In that case the particular entry is prefixed with an exclaimation mark ( ! ).

I've also added a few entries that are just guesses, they are prefixed with one or more question marks ( ? ). The more question marks, the more shakey the guess.

A few people are know to originate in realities other than the main realities of the different book series. In that case I've marked them with a star and a number, same number means the same unnamed reality.

The reality that the Infected reality interacts with, from which Hobbs, Mary, Braid, and so on originate, was often referred to as "Hobbs' World" in the Infected books, so I'll use that label instead of a numbered star.

The revelation that Peter Westmorland is a version of Chris and Ginger got me thinking about what effect his pleasure addiction might have if he was subjected to Alternate-style Line-walker training.

Given that the addiction is a mental one, the way I see it, there are two possible outcomes here. Either he will fail pretty much instantly when put into the void, as the withdrawal drives him crazy, or a few centuries in the void will allow him to kick the habit. What effect that would have on any skills that he trained using the pleasure reward method remains to be seen.

This also raises the question what effect a long stay in the void would have on Gwen/Kathrine. I'm pretty sure Gwen wouldn't have any issues. Kathrine on the other hand would be much more problematic.

There also is an interesting possibility here. Given the skill that Alternate Zack has shown for manipulating patterns in the void (AP4 - turning Denise [femalized Vampire David] into a true bat shifter) it might be possible that he would be able to fully separate Gwen's and Kathrine's patterns in the void...

Or they could go to Lesser Shia and acquire some of that nifty anti-addiction tech. There might be something there for mental addictions too. Also, I bet Tomas could handle the void as well, and he obviously has unexplored magical potential, which means he could conceivably train himself up to be both a linewalker and a master magician in very little time and without Westmoreland Protocols.

As long as Dale never mentions "lime balls" again, I'm good either way. Far too close to "slime balls", and my imagination was really too active for my own good when I read that...

Yoko is in Dead End? I missed that!

Not that it would surprise me. Gah, that's a lot of books.

Gwen, who originated in the Dead End reality, recognized Yoko Winslow as being Yoko Ono based on media she was exposed to in her home reality. As such, while never appearing as a character in Dead End, Yoko Ono must (have) exist(ed) in that reality.

If I read it correctly, Dragon"-Shifters" in the Demonverse reality aren't actually Shifters. Instead, they are "real" Dragons. The first of which was a Dragon Queen that arrived from another reality (and it seems that traveling between realities is an innate skill of Dragon Queens).

That means somewhere out there is the origin reality of the Dragons from the Demonverse.

The child of a Dragon seems to always be a Dragon. Instead of the way it is with "real" Shifters, where the secondary form gets imprinted based on the people the child grows up with (or the environment). I guess that *might* open the possibility for actual Dragon-Shifters to exist, if a Shifter child grows up with only Dragons as foster parents.

There are also Dragons in the Alternate reality (e.g Ang was first mentioned in AP 1, 2, 3 before then also being mentioned in the Eve and Tyler books). It's not clear if the origin of the Dragons in the Alternate reality is the same ("real" Dragons pretending to be Shifters, descending from a Dragon Queen that arrived from a different reality) as in the Demonverse, or if they are actual Dragon-Shifters.

Oh, and with all the people that can travel to YA Mars and/or Moon by now, someone really needs to grab a few hands full of clothing amulets for the Dragons and Shifters. That would very nicely solve the problems with clothes when shifting.

Maybe a special version where the amulet isn't on some actual string or necklace, but instead the necklace is also just a virtual matter projection, so that it can change as the wearer shifts, instead of strangling the person of the neck gets a lot thicker in the other form.
