Hello,

We've had a recent spat of Russian spambots to our little website. It added several dozen spam accounts to the site and caused all kinds of wonderful havoc. Because of this, we're shutting down the Registration for the website for a while to stop the bots from doing what they're been doing. I also deleted a LOT of accounts that I believed to be part of the tsunami. If I inadvertently deleted your account, please forgive me and contact me to let me know. We'll get you back onsite asap.

Best wishes everyone!

Re: Once A Demon: Three book series, progress thread!

I've taken a break from your books after for a while, but felt that with a new unexpected K.T. I'd have to take a look at what's going on with your series. I suspect I won't be making friends here any time soon again, but honesty is supposed to be a virtue, so ... Mojo: It isn't really the social is...

Re: What to read while waiting for the next P.S. Power book

Perilous Waif was very good from all angles. (Characters, world building, technology, plot, etc.) Main character is strong, but not as overpowered as his other series. Depends on smarts as well as power. Well, I read it. It was fun, which is what matters. I agree on the coincidence thing. There's a...

Re: What to read while waiting for the next P.S. Power book

Perilous Waif (Alice Long Book 1) by E. William Brown. The beginning of a sci-fi series by the author who brought us Daniel Black (which he needs to get back to). How was it? Amazon basically says 5/5 everyone but reviews that are so super-positive tend to make me suspicious / feel like "fan-o...

Re: What to read while waiting for the next P.S. Power book

I'm currently reading Tengoku by Rae Magdon. Seems to be some sort of Japanese-fantasy thing. Apparently the protagonist is transgender? Well, something different for a change. It's not bad so far but too early to say for sure. Also, Shatter, aka Dark Reach II, by Lora Rasmussen. The first book was ...

Re: Steve York?

Who knows? Might be a comment on being pushed into that situation instead of the protagonist creating the situation were death-by-hands was necessary; eg. actio vs reactio. But I agree, novels "by committee" usually don't work out too well. That being said, I read a lot lately were I despe...

Re: What to read while waiting for the next P.S. Power book

So I read "The Girl Who Bore the Flame Ring". I don't have a clue what's with the flame ring (the sun?) but as expected, the writing was rather bad, but the plot was pretty good. Like the author's first web novel, the heroine is some random girl who just wants some small thing (the first o...

Re: What to read while waiting for the next P.S. Power book

Ya, but from what I gathered I'm not sure the later "plot" is actually an improvement. ^^; Oh well, I might get around to reading 'The Girl Who Bore the Flame Ring'. Read 'The Girl Who Ate the Reaper' a few years back and that was actually surprisingly interesting. Same author, so might be...

Re: What to read while waiting for the next P.S. Power book

I'm not sure it's the type of series/universe where the author has to particular care about brand name. It's going to sell anyway. ^^ Did you have a look at some of the ones I linked in my post on the 13th here in this thread? No. Good point; I was thinking about the ones Amazon constantly tries to ...

Re: What to read while waiting for the next P.S. Power book

I'm still waiting for something in that genre that actually appeals to me. I like the idea, but none of the ones I saw seemed interesting enough. Well, alright, except for Alice Tale, but that one isn't exactly to be taken seriously, and the (fan) translation is mostly plain horrible, ha ha. https:/...

Re: What to read while waiting for the next P.S. Power book

You always want a hint of disaster, thunder clouds looming on the horizon. But if there's no respite it can frazzle a reader's nerves. It's also a matter of giving the reader something to cling on to - Baru Cormorant for example promises bad stuff right from the start. Bad stuff then happens. Even ...
